This twelfth volume is the last in the series. It provides a summary of what happened at Glacier View Ranch in Colorado, where Desmond Ford was removed from the ministry of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Included is a summary of what Gillian Ford found out about what happened during her four years working on this series. I discuss a new book by Gilbert Valentine about Edward Heppenstall and respond to his comments about Desmond Ford in it. Other sections include articles on the issue of righteousness by faith, which technically means justification alone through the finished work of Christ on the cross. Glenn Hansen’s articles on Luther are important here, and also Milton Hooks article on Martin Chemnitz, the second Luther, who organised his works. Mark K. Olsen, a Wesleyan scholar, writes about John Wesley view of Luther, and how it changed with time. Robert Wolfgramm writes an article on the dating of the N.T. books of the Bible, showing the prominence of the Apostle Paul. I feature two interviews with Des by Richard Fredericks and Tom Norris. And I include an article by Colleen Tinker who writes about the new and improved investigative judgement, which is in fact as unbiblical as the old version. In a section of Des’s sermons, I feature transcripts of The Gospel of the Cross, a six-part series of sermons made by Des in the 1990s and produced by Boris Dobra. Then I feature a section called ‘What Didn’t They Like About What Des Said?’ where you can read some of the accusations made against him. This is written by traditionalist Adventist, and later, I include correspondence from administrators saying what they didn’t like about Des. I am an equal opportunity historian, so you can hear all sides of the conflict. Later, I reproduce material from a 1988 Adventist Currents about the arrest and trial of Israel Dammon, plus miscellaneous articles about Waggoner and Jones, who were active pioneers in 1888. I feature two memorials of Des who died in 2019 in a section called ‘Remembering Des’. Squeezed between these are many letters, emails and articles about diverse subjects. Thus ends my series on Glacier View (1980).
