Hawk Woman: Fictional Autobiography($11.95Value)

Description

Hawk Woman was presumed killed during the River Crow raid on the Piegan Village in 1823. In this narrative, I presume she survived. She was kidnapped and held for ransom to lure her husband, Augustine Armelle, Jr., into the Crow camp. Under the cover of night, Hawk Woman struggles to climb a ravine, facing physical pain and emotional despair. After a fall, she rests in a thicket, reflecting on her identity as "Bird Woman" and recollecting names that once held meaning but now feel empty. Hawk Woman prays to various spirits and unknowingly falls asleep, awakening to find herself under a juniper tree surrounded by three braves speaking a foreign language. Unable to move in fear, she is lifted and cradled by one of the braves, who carries her to a mat lodge. Upon waking, she recognizes the Salish language and steps out to discover a transformed landscape, with the Rocky Mountains visible and a golden valley surrounding them.
