I believe that spending time memorizing and meditating on the Holy Scriptures has perhaps been a blessing to God and that feels really good. As authors are blessed by someone who appreciates their writing, similarly I think God is blessed and even thrilled when we make learning His word a priority. And perhaps, when we seek to honor God in this way, we’ll experience the bedrock principle that God honors those who honor Him (I Samuel 2:30) and that it is He alone who ultimately, “satisfies the longing soul” (Psalm 107:9).
