We as a society are filled with a deep-rooted desire for Justice. This longing is no accident; it's a reflection of the nature of the one who created us. Jesus lived the righteous life we couldn't and died the death we deserved, satisfying the demands of divine Justice. His resurrection provides proof that he was who he said he was and accomplished everything he promised. Through Faith, Jesus offers us forgiveness and a path to a restored relationship with God. In Jesus Christ, we find not only the perfect example of Justice but also the Grace (undeserved favor) and forgiveness that redeem us from our own failings. Jesus did what none of us could do on our own. By Faith in Jesus, every human being on the planet has an equal opportunity to come to God. This mercy is not based on our abilities, our finances, our ethnicity, our color, or even our past. But instead, it is based solely on the Grace of God through Faith in Christ. Jesus is the justifier, jury, and judge, and without accepting his provisions for our debt, we stand condemned with no defense. It was our sins that were nailed to the Cross with Jesus, and if we reject the forgiveness he offers, we will have to face Justice for our sins. This is when we realize that we desire God’s Mercy, Grace, and Forgiveness rather than His Justice.
