Wilhelm Heinrich Otto was about 6 years of age when his parents, Hans Peter and Dorothea Catharina Otto, brought him to America in 1748. The family lived in Hunterdon county, NJ verified by church records. Wilhelm purchased a farm in Frederick county, MD (now Carroll county) in 1775 according to the deed filed in the courthouse and is recognized as a Revolutionary War Patriot. Volume 2 follows the families of his four oldest, of his 10 children, and their descendants: Katherine (Otto) Hammer, who was born in Hunterdon County, NJ, grew up in Frederick, MD and lived her married life in Bedford County, PA. Peter Otto, who was also born in NJ and lived most of his adult life in MD, having died there. Jacob Otto was also born in NJ and lived his adult life in MD. Anne Otto of which the only evidence of her life is her baptism in Hunterdon County, NJ. Volume 1 contains the ancestry of the author's 3 X great grandfather, Harbert Otto who was born and baptized in Hunterdon, NJ; grew up in Frederick, MD and lived his adult life in Bedford County, PA.
