Forever Mine was written as a way to move through the grief; A place to put all of that love that remained. I first wrote "Forever Mine" as a poem in the early days after losing our Rudy. We were not expecting him to leave us when and how he did and, sadly, we didn't have a chance to say goodbye to him.  The poem was my way of doing so.  I found who I thought was the perfect illustrator, Daniela Tovar, as her style seemed to convey the emotion of the poem, and so the book was born.  My hope is that Rudy's small tribute and goodbye story is somehow able to reach and comfort those who are experiencing the loss of their furry best friend. -kg
